I was born in the Okanagan valley of British Columbia and have recently returned. I spent much of the in between time in other parts of Canada and the world, including Alberta, Ontario, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Australia. In these years I became fascinated by people, their underlying similarities and their intriguing differences. I have a B.A in Anthropology and a Masters in Social Work, play the harp, practise and teach yoga, sing in a choir, read voraciously, bike and walk as my main mode of transportation, plant, weed and enjoy my vegetable garden and, of course, write every moment I can.
Plus I was brought up in a punny family so I really like to laugh a lot.
In 2005 I graduated from the Institute of Children’s Literature.
I have two adult kids, a partner and three harps.
